To better serve the emerging health needs of the Permian Basin, Medical Center Hospital has grown from one hospital into a family of advanced healthcare centers to provide you with a new level of comprehensive care by creating the new Medical Center Health System.

The Medical Center Health System is the second largest employer in Ector County with over 1,600 employees and more than 280 physicians on staff, practicing over 30 medical specialties. The Medical Center Health System is made up of Medical Center Hospital, the Center for Health & Wellness, Mission Fitness, Urgent Care, ProCare, Clinics at Walmart, Family Health Clinic, Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, Texas Tech Health Sciences Center and the Permian Basin Healthcare Network.

Medical Center Hospital is licensed for 362 beds and is the only full-service hospital in Ector County. Serving as the regional referral hospital for the 17 surrounding counties of the Permian Basin for over 60 years, MCH is the primary teaching hospital for Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Odessa. As the community hospital, MCH is owned by the Ector County Hospital District and governed by a seven-member district board of directors elected by Ector County voters.

MCH is recognized by the State of Texas as the lead level III trauma facility for the region and is a leader in cardiovascular services, inpatient and outpatient therapy, diagnostic testing, bariatric, stroke, orthopedic, and women's services. Specialty areas and services include a nationally accredited Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers, Center for Heart Disease, Diabetes Center, Family Health Clinic, Family Health Dental Clinic, Cardiac and Pulmonary Center, Wound Care, Orthopedics, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and CareStar air ambulance service. MCH provides educational programs for the community through the Spirit of Women program that highlights women's health issues as well as provides free screenings to the community. MCH is also a Children's Miracle Network Hospital.

The Texas Oncology West Texas Cancer Center is part of the MCH campus and provides the most effective cancer treatments available in the convenience of our local community. The Approved Cancer Program at MCH has received commendation for its level of excellence by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.

MCH has also received numerous other awards and accreditations, including the HealthGrades 2010 Orthopedic Surgery Excellence Award, HealthGrades 2010 Top Five Percent in the Nation in Maternity Care, HealthGrades 2010 Five-Star in Maternity Care, Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval for Stroke Program, American Diabetes Association certificate of recognition, and the American College of Radiology designation of Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.
