The University of Texas of the Permian Basin

UTPB's apartment-style student housing is some of the nicest in the state. Students can choose a one, two, or four-bedroom unit. All have fully functioning kitchens. The Parker Ranch House, a 5,600-square-foot clubhouse, has a lounge, large meeting room and theater, a large commons area with a kitchen, weight room, two computer labs, and a covered built-in barbeque pit.

UTPB is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association at the Division-II level. Its intercollegiate sports include men's and women's soccer, cross country, swimming, basketball, as well as men's baseball and women's softball and volleyball. Tennis was recently re-introduced, and is expected to be a full, intercollegiate program soon. The athletic program also supports cheerleading and dance teams, and scholarships are available for sports as well as cheerleading and dance.

Individuals and businesses support the university through endowments, scholarships, and gifts. UTPB partners with the community through a variety of programs including the Small Business Development Center, and the Center for Energy and Economic Diversification (CEED). The CEED is located off Hwy. 191 at the Midland International Airport exit in Midland County. It is available to the community for meetings and workshops.
